End of Term 1

Wow it is hard to believe that it is already the end of the first term! We have had a fabulous first term and I’m looking forward to a great second term too. Since the start of the year all of you students have contributed to creating a friendly, helpful, happy and successful place which is all because of you guys, so keep doing what you are doing! And keep enjoying School! Keep having fun! And always remember that positive attitude!

I wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday. Take some time to unwind and have fun…make sure you go outside and enjoy the sunny days before winter hits! Have a nice rest and be ready for a busy term 2.

Here a few photos i have found of just some of the random things that have happened this term!
This is what happens when Ashley and Georgia get hold of Miss Brown's Phone!

Shelford wanted me show the world he was on the good list today! yay!

This is what happens when Larissa needs to finish her Ad at lunchtime....we are all joined by Brinary who decides to draw some very random pictures for me to put on my wall. Including an onion person and a whale...soon everyone is trying to draw a nija onions...aye Issy!

School Carnival

Our school carnival was a great success! Everyone had an amazing day spending time with friends and family exploring the different stands. A big thank you to the whole class who all turned up for their shifts and acted sensibly to make the day a success! We made around $400 from our candyfloss, toffee apples and fighting log, and around $5000 as a whole school. I am so proud of how well our class behaved and represented our class and school.

A big thank you to Tracey Scatchard (Courtney S mum) for making the toffee apples which sold out within the first hour, and Matthew’s dad for providing the fighting log and even stayed around to help run it.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Wow it is already that time of year! We are having parent teacher interviews on the 13th & 14th March. On Wednesday 13th you can book from 3.00-7.50pm (there is a dinner break from 6-6.30pm) and Thursday 14th 3.00-4.50pm if you are unable to make these days let me know and I can arrange for another time to meet.

This is chance for parents to come and meet the teacher and see what is going on in our class. This is a great chance for students to show off their learning, our beautiful classroom and our fantastic achievements so far this year. I encourage students to come to interviews if possible as it is their classroom and gives students an opportunity to share their learning with their parents.
I look forward to meeting everyone’s parents and finding out how I can help my students more throughout this year.
If you have school-links account you can book your time under the upcoming events section or you can fill in the form your child has been sent home with today.

Powhiri

We held our first gathering as a school through a powhiri where year 7 students were welcomed onto the school site by the year 8 students.
It was a great occasion to bring the school together and start the year off as we mean to carry on. Congratulations to all students and staff for their positive contribution to the powhiri.

First Few Weeks

Welcome to Room Twelve!!! On this blog you can expect to see regular updates on what is happening in our class and upcoming events.

Wow what an exciting first few weeks we have had together! It was awesome getting to know you all and learning how you tick! Testing has been a focus in the last few weeks, as well as getting some things on the wall that express the students and the class. Room twelve has started a reading project which has been completed in between testing time. Our second language this year is French with some Maori included as well. I can't wait till we look at French food...yummy!! Our topic on for Term 1 is The Treaty of Waitangi.

am so proud of how well the class has worked together over the last few weeks. Building up our own classroom community has been set in motion and will continue to grow as we do. Keep up the fantastic standards you are setting Room Twelve; as you all know, my expectations of you are high and you keep reaching the bar - KEEP IT UP!
